Landslide in Sikkim kills three soldiers, six missing

New Delhi, June 2 . An Indian Army camp in Lachen district of Sikkim was hit by a landslide. Three army personnel have died in this accident.

The army said that the situation has worsened due to heavy rains in the area. Rescue operations are underway to search for the missing soldiers in the landslide.

Information given by the army said that at around 7 pm on June 1, a devastating landslide occurred at the Indian Army military camp located in Cheten area of ​​​​Lachen district. Torrential rain is believed to be the cause of this landslide.

Immediately after the disaster, the Indian Army took quick and bold action and started rescue operations and showed unparalleled dedication and courage even in adverse conditions.

The soldiers engaged in relief and rescue operations have so far rescued four persons safely. According to the army, the rescued people have suffered only minor injuries. After this tragic incident of landslide, the bodies of three soldiers, Havildar Lakhwinder Singh, Lance Naik Manish Thakur and Porter Abhishek Lakhda have been found.
