New Delhi: In view of the outbreak of COVID 19 pandemic, to provide Digital Audio-Visual learning platform to NDMC teachers and students, New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) Chairperson, Shri Dharmendra has launched two educational YouTube Channels – “Atal Adarsh Shiksha” and “Navyug Pragati”.
After launching the NDMC’s Educational YouTube Channels in his inaugural address on the channel, Shri Dharmendra said that today the entire world is going through a very difficult time due to the outbreak of covid-19 pandemic. Education institutions have also been hit hard as the schools have been shut down since March, 2020.
In this ‘New Normal’ which we may call this period, our schools have risen to the occasion and switched to online teaching. Unprecedented times require unprecedented measures, so despite all odds, our educators have been working hard to find innovative solutions to make learning better and accessible to all, he added.
Shri Dharmendra informed that the Education Department of NDMC has come up with the idea of starting its own dedicated YouTube channel: For ‘Navyug School the YouTube Channel will be called –“Navyug Pragati” and for Atal Adarsh Vidyalya it will be “Atal Adarsh Shiksha” to provide learning platform to our teachers for our students.
NDMC Chairman said that our teachers will now upload their lessons on YouTube. This will help the students to understand the lesson with ease and continue with their studies from their homes. These videos will be used in the online classroom sessions and teachers will provide question-answer sheets related to the subject of the video to the students. He believes that this approach will compensate for the physical classroom teaching by our teachers.
He further informed that the channel will broadcast the videos of subjects by experts on the topic of the syllabus from Class Nursery to Class-12. However, in the 1st Phase focus will be on Primary Wing for all subjects and will be broadcast from NDMC Education YouTube Channel. These videos are based on school syllabus and have been made by NDMC teachers who teach in schools.
He hopes that these videos will help not only the students of NDMC but every student and will be used widely. On this occasion, he wished to all the dedicated teachers who are always willing to work for the betterment of the students and their overall development whatever be the circumstances.
On the occasion of launching the YouTube Channels, Secretary- NDMC, Shri Amit Singla and Director (Education) – Shri R.P.Gupta were also present.
