MUMBAI | The Bombay High Court on Tuesday granted interim relief to the two from major action in connection with the FIR lodged against them on sedition charges against Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut and her sister Rangoli Chandel. Along with this, the court also directed him to appear before the Mumbai Police on January 8. Justice S. s. Shinde and Justice M.S. Karnik’s bench accepted the plea of ​​advocate Rizwan Siddiqui that the two sisters would report to the Mumbai Police in response to the summons given against them.

Complainant Munawarli Sahil A. Advocate Rizwan Merchant, representing Syed, requested that the two sisters refrain from making any provocative statements on the social media platform, for which the court agreed and prohibited publishing anything related to their subject matter. Granted.

Both Chief Public Prosecutor Deepak Thackeray and Syed’s lawyer Merchant opposed interim relief to the sisters by the High Court in the case.

Following the FIR, the summons was issued to the two sisters to appear on three different dates, which they bypassed.

Syed, a Bollywood casting director and fitness trainer, accused Kangana and Rangoli of bringing the film industry into disrepute.

It is notable that a complaint was filed against Kangana and Rangoli for allegedly spreading hatred and communal tension through posts on social media. On this, the Bandra magistrate court ordered the police to register a case and investigate.
