Everyone above 18 years of age in Maharashtra will get free Covid vaccine

Mumbai| The Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government of Maharashtra has decided to vaccinate all the people of the state at the age of 18–45 years. The state will bear the cost of immunization of all its people from the next phase between 18-45, which will start from May 1.

Nationalist Congress Party National Spokesperson and Minority Affairs Minister Nawab Malik discussed the vaccination campaign and the Phase II plans at a cabinet meeting last week.

Later Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Ajit Pawar announced that vaccines would be purchased for the people of the state.

“Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray will soon make an announcement in this regard,” he said.

Informing the media on Sunday, Malik said that in times of crisis the government will come out and help its people.

“As per the announcement of the Deputy CM, we will issue the tender and get the best vaccine at the most competitive rates,” he said. We need to take about 14 million vaccine doses because two doses are needed.

Top government officials are in touch with the management of the Pune-based Serum Institute of India and Hyderabad-based Bharat Biotech, the manufacturers of covicild and covaxine.

Both companies have given vaccines to the center at Rs 150 per dose.

The Serum Institute has offered vaccines at Rs 400 per dose for state governments and Rs 600 per dose for private hospitals, while Bharat Biotech vaccine is available at Rs 600 per state hospital and Rs 1,200 per dose for private hospitals. Will be.

Maharashtra along with other states had earlier objected to the new vaccination policy and related issues of the Center.
