Now the government means Lieutenant Governor in Delhi

New Delhi | In Delhi, the Government will now mean the Lieutenant Governor. Notification of National Capital Territory Governance (Amendment) Act, 2021 i.e. GNTCD Act has been issued in Delhi. The notification issued by the Union Home Ministry states that the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (Amendment) Act, 2021 is notified from 27 April. This means that now the Kejriwal government will not be able to take any major step without the approval of the Lieutenant Governor (LG). In the notification issued by the Union Home Ministry, it has been said that in the context of the legislation passed in the Delhi Assembly, the government will mean the Lieutenant Governor of the National Capital Territory of Delhi. With this, the Delhi government will have to seek the advice of the Lieutenant Governor before any government work. The bill was passed in the Lok Sabha on March 22 and in the Rajya Sabha on March 24.

Now the Delhi government will have to send the legislative proposal to the Lieutenant Governor at least 15 days in advance and the administrative proposal at least 7 days in advance.

Regarding this law, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has said that it is written in this law that from now on Delhi Government will mean LG. Then what will we mean, what will the people mean, then what will the people of the country mean. If the Delhi government means LG, then where will the people of Delhi go. Whether the Chief Minister of Delhi will do or not, where will the Chief Minister go Then why did elections take place?

The Aam Aadmi Party says that the Constitution Bench of the Supreme Court of the country explicitly ruled in 2018 that the government in Delhi would mean a democratically, elected government by the vote of the people, which would be headed by the Chief Minister of Delhi, L.G. No. In that order, the Constitution Bench of the Hon’ble Supreme Court said that the police, public order and land, except for these three subjects, will have all the rights with the elected government of Delhi.
