Amit Yadav is NDMC New Chairperson

New Delhi: Shri Amit Yadav, an IAS officer of the 1991 batch of AGMUT cadre, assumed charge as Chairperson – New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) today.

 Shri Amit Yadav succeeds Shri Bhupinder Singh Bhalla, who is transferred to the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Govt. of India as Secretary. Shri Amit Yadav was previously serving as Additional Secretary, Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Govt. of India.

Shri Amit Yadav has held several important assignments in both Central and Delhi Governments in various capacities. He has worked as Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. He has also worked as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Telecommunication, Govt. of India.

He has served as Counsellor in Permanent Mission of India (WTO), Geneva and Civil Affairs Officer at Kosovo.

 

He initially joined the service as SDM in East Delhi, later on served as Deputy Commissioner in South Delhi; Additional Commissioner in Sales Tax Department,  Commissioner, East Delhi Municipal Corporation, Secretary – Land and Building, Revenue, Finance, GAD and  Chairman and Managing Director in Delhi State Industrial Development Corporation (DSIDC).

Shri Amit Yadav has done his Graduation in Science – B.Sc. (Chemistry) and thereafter LLB and MBA.
