San Francisco: Apple has confirmed that the launch of the iPhone 12 will be delayed due to supply chain disruptions and now a new report has claimed that the launch will be split into two phases. As reported by DigiTimes, the Cupertino-based tech giant plans to launch four different models of the iPhone 12 later this year with 5.4-inch, 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch OLED screens. Apple may launch two iPhone 12s with a 6.1-inch screen. The 5.4-inch and 6.7-inch models can be launched later.
The 6.1-inch model will be available first, as suppliers have started sending SLPs (substrate-like PCBs) for it. While the SLP for the other two models will be shipped by the suppliers by the end of August.
The 6.7-inch and 6.1-inch models will be high-end devices with triple-lens cameras, while the 5.4 and 6.1-inch models will be lower-end iPhones with dual-lens cameras, which will also be affordable.
OLED displays and 5G support are expected across all four iPhone models.
