BJP played social engineering card in Rajasthan: Brahmin CM, Rajput and Dalit Deputy CM

Jaipur: Rajasthan Chief Minister-designate Bhajan Lal Sharma, after being elected the leader of the legislature party, said that he will work together with all BJP leaders for the all-round development of the state. Sharma said, “We will develop the state with everyone’s cooperation.”

The BJP high command had appointed Union ministers Rajnath Singh, Vinod Tawde, and Saroj Pandey as observers for Rajasthan, and the three leaders reached Jaipur on Tuesday afternoon and held a meeting with the MLAs.

Union Minister Rajnath Singh also met Vasundhara Raje in private and spoke to BJP national president JP Nadda on the phone.

According to sources, even before the meeting, Rajnath Singh convinced Vasundhara to propose the name of the new Chief Minister. After the announcement of Sharma’s name, BJP leaders reached Raj Bhavan to stake a claim to form the government in Rajasthan.

The BJP has played the social engineering card in Rajasthan by electing a Brahmin Chief Minister and two Deputy Chief Ministers, a Rajput – Diya Kumari and a Dalit – Premchand Bairwa. By doing this the party has given a big message to the general category of people also.

In Rajasthan, after 33 years a Brahmin face has been made the Chief Minister. Before this, Haridev Joshi of Congress had been the CM of Rajasthan thrice. Joshi was CM from 1973 to 1977, again from 1985 to 1988 and from 1989 to 1990.

The BJP has also tried to woo the Rajputs by making Diya Kumari, who belongs to the former royal family of Jaipur, as the Deputy CM. He contested from Vidyadhar Nagar constituency of Jaipur and won by a record margin of over 75,000 votes.

Apart from this, to woo the Dalit class, Premchand Bairwa from Dudu has also been made Deputy CM.

Party officials said the party carders have worked hard to balance the social engineering equations in the state and are looking forward to the Lok Sabha elections.
