The Supreme Court is hearing this matter.

In view of the increasing case of Covid-19, the examination of some subjects of CBSE 12th was canceled. The examination of the main subjects of 10th has been done in the entire country except the riot affected areas of Delhi. The parents have filed a petition in the Supreme Court demanding postponing of 10th and 12th examinations. The Supreme Court is hearing this matter. It is expected that by the evening, a big decision should be taken by CBSE.

The first hearing in the case took place on Tuesday, June 23, 2020, wherein Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, who appeared for the HRD Ministry said, “We understand the apprehension of the students. We can inform the Court the day after tomorrow.”

Case will be heard again today at 2 pm by the top Court.

After a group of parents approached the apex court for the same, Supreme Court gave the order to cancel the pending CBSE exams because of the safety issue that is going to be created due to the rising Covid-19 cases.

The case will be heard again today at 2 pm by the top Court, where the CBSE is supposed to inform its decision. Advocate Jaideep Gupta, who appeared for the ICSE board, said the board was awaiting the top court’s orders on the CBSE matter. Gupta argued that a plea was stuck at the Bombay High Court that was, in turn, waiting for the Supreme Court’s decision.

CBSE asked for time till Thursday, June 25, to give a final decision. Supreme Court is set to hear the matter today and the HRD minister’s announcement is expected any time after that regarding whether the CBSE board exams will be held or not.
