‘Celebration today, work starts tomorrow’, said Rekha Gupta’s husband

New Delhi, February 19 Shalimar Bagh MLA Rekha Gupta will become the next Chief Minister of Delhi. Her name has been approved in the BJP Legislature Party meeting on Wednesday. Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena will administer the oath of office and secrecy to her in a grand swearing-in ceremony at Ramlila Maidan on Thursday. There is an atmosphere of happiness in the family since her name was announced as the leader of the BJP Legislature Party. Fireworks have been burst in Shalimar Bagh. Her supporters are expressing happiness by feeding sweets to each other.

Rekha Gupta’s husband Manish Gupta told  “Today is a day of celebration and work will start from tomorrow. The party has given a huge responsibility. A lot of strength and collective effort is needed to fulfill this responsibility.”

The family members of the Shalimar Bagh MLA said that Rekha Gupta’s ability to work is completely different from other people. In Shalimar Bagh, she knows every child by their name. She has always raised public issues. This is the reason why the people here have chosen her.

After being elected as the leader of the BJP Legislative Party, Rekha Gupta posted on the social media platform X. In the post, she wrote, “I express my heartfelt gratitude to all the top leadership for trusting me and entrusting me with the responsibility of the post of Chief Minister. This trust and support of yours has given me new energy and inspiration. I pledge that I will work with full honesty, integrity and dedication for the welfare, empowerment and overall development of every citizen of Delhi. I am fully committed to this important opportunity to take Delhi to new heights.”

Rekha Gupta has been elected MLA for the first time from Shalimar Bagh seat of Delhi. She defeated AAP’s Bandana Kumari by a margin of 29,595 votes.

The results of the Delhi Assembly elections were declared on February 8. The BJP has got a historic victory after 26 years. It won 48 out of 70 seats while AAP got 22 seats.
