New Delhi | Delhi needs more vaccines in the fight against Corona. Every day 1 lakh people are being vaccinated in Delhi and the Delhi government now has only 5 to 6 days of vaccine left. According to the Delhi government, 2.60 crore vaccines are still required to vaccinate all people above 18 years of age in Delhi. Giving information about this on Saturday, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that 1 lakh people are being vaccinated daily in Delhi. 50 thousand vaccines are being given to people between 18 and 44 years old. The remaining 50 thousand vaccines are being put to people above 45 years of age. This vaccination program is currently underway in 100 schools in Delhi. Now the Delhi government is going to start the vaccination program in 300 schools.
According to the Delhi government, an action plan has been prepared to start the vaccination program in 300 schools. The only vaccine is waiting. Vaccination of 3 lakh people in Delhi is possible on receipt of the vaccine. In such a situation, 80 to 85 lakh people will be vaccinated within 1 month. Accordingly, the vaccination of all 1.50 crore persons in Delhi will be completed in 3 months.
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that Delhi has a population of 2 crores. 5 million people are under 18 years of age. One crore people are in the age group of 18 to 45 years. 5 million people are over 45 years of age. Accordingly, there are about 1.50 crore people in Delhi above the age of 18 years. These 1.50 crore people have to apply for 30 million vaccines because each person has to give two doses of vaccine. Out of these three crore vaccines, the Delhi government has so far received 40 lakh vaccines. That is, we need 26 million more vaccines now.
The Chief Minister said that we need about 80 to 85 lakh vaccines per month. If we continue to receive vaccinations regularly for 3 months, then within 3 months, the entire Delhi can be vaccinated.
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that people from around Delhi such as Gurgaon, Faridabad, Noida, Ghaziabad, etc. are also coming to Delhi to get vaccinated. Therefore, more vaccines will be required than the vaccine we have asked for. Our request to the Central Government is that Delhi is provided with a reasonable amount of vaccine.
The Chief Minister said that vaccination of all is necessary to avoid the third wave of Corona. I sincerely hope that the central government will help us with this task.
Children below 18 years of age may not find this current person. The Chief Minister said that I appeal to the experts to find a vaccine for the children also so that they can also be protected.
