Delhi building accident: Two people dead, Kapil Mishra targets previous government

New Delhi, July 12 . Two people have died so far due to the collapse of a building in Delhi’s Welcome police station area. Eight people have been rescued. However, they have been injured due to being buried under the debris, due to which they have been sent to the hospital for treatment. There is still a possibility of one to two people being buried under the debris.

A four-storey building collapsed on Saturday morning at around 6:45 am on Idgah Road of Janta Mazdoor Colony under Welcome police station area. According to the information, teams of NDRF, Fire Brigade, Local Police and Civil Defense are engaged in relief and rescue work on the spot. Efforts are being made to safely evacuate the people trapped in the debris.

Meanwhile, Delhi Government Minister Kapil Mishra has visited the place where the building collapsed to assess the situation. Kapil Mishra, while talking to news agency IANS, said, “This is a very sad incident. Two people could not be saved. There is a possibility that some more people may be buried under the debris. The street is very narrow, only one and a half feet wide, due to which machinery cannot be used. Due to the lack of access to machines, the debris has to be removed by hand.”

Kapil Mishra told IANS that two-three buildings nearby have also been evacuated. There is a danger that these houses may collapse after the debris is removed, as these houses are adjacent to each other.

Meanwhile, Kapil Mishra made serious allegations against the previous government. He said, “First it collapsed in Mustafabad, now it has collapsed in Seelampur. Buildings are collapsing in a particular area. In the last 10 years, a terrible game of corruption has been played due to vote bank.”

Kapil Mishra, a minister in the Delhi government, while talking to IANS said, “Where is Gopal Rai? Will Gopal Rai take responsibility for this murder? Such illegal constructions have been happening under his supervision. Where are Gopal Rai and Arvind Kejriwal hiding? You sat on the chair for fifteen-ten years and such houses kept getting built.”

He said in clear words, “We will get this investigated. Be it an officer or a leader, strict action will be taken against the culprits in this incident.”
