Delhi Police broke the back of international drug gang, seized drugs worth Rs 2000 crore

New Delhi, October 2  Police has busted an international drug smuggling gang in Mahipalpur, Delhi and seized 562 kg of cocaine and 40 kg of Thai marijuana.

In this operation, the Special Cell of Delhi Police has seized heroin and other drugs worth about Rs 2000 crore. Four accused have been arrested in this case. The main accused Tushar Goyal is a resident of Vasant Vihar and is the main distributor of cocaine in Delhi. His two associates, Himanshu and Aurangzeb, are also involved in this racket, who have also been arrested by the police. According to the police, Tushar Goyal’s father has a publication business.

Delhi Police said that Tushar Goyal was going to meet the main receiver Bharat Jain in India to supply 15 kg of cocaine from Mumbai. While arresting him during the operation, this huge cache of cocaine was recovered from a warehouse in Mahipalpur Extension. No angle of narco terror was found in the investigation of this drug, but it is clear that Tushar Goyal used to make payments in crypto currency.

The police carried out this operation based on several information, and said that this is the biggest consignment of cocaine in recent times. Further investigation is underway in this case, in which efforts are being made to trace other links and international networks of drugs.

Additional Commissioner of Special Cell of Delhi Police Pramod Kushwaha told IANS, “It is a special cell team, led by DCP Amit Kaushik, which has busted an international drugs racket. This racket was being controlled by a handler from West Asia. Apart from this, the receiver Bharat Jain from Kurla, Mumbai has also been arrested. 562 kg cocaine and 40 kg Thai marijuana have been recovered from the possession of the accused.”

Kushwaha said the price of cocaine in the international market is around Rs 10 crore per kg, while marijuana is priced at Rs 40 to 50 lakh per kg. The racket was under police surveillance for some time. Based on information received from the central intelligence agency, the gang was under surveillance for the last four months.

He further said, “Delhi Police has a clear instruction from the Home Ministry to take strict action against drug abuse as drugs are a big threat to society. The main controller of this racket is operating from Dubai.”
