On the advice of the Prime Minister on behalf of the President of India, the departments have been divided among the members of the Union Council of Ministers.

Along with this, Amit Shah has been given the charge of the Ministry of Home and Cooperation. Rajnath Singh has the Ministry of Defense, Nitin Gadkari has been made the Road Transport Minister. JP Nadda has been made the Minister of Health and Family Welfare and the Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers.
Shivraj Singh Chouhan has been given the charge of the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and the Ministry of Rural Development. Nirmala Sitharaman has been assigned the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
