Draupadi Murmu will be the next President of India

New Delhi | NDA candidate Draupadi Murmu won after the third round of counting on Thursday. Out of 3,219 valid votes polled so far, he got 2,161 votes while opposition candidate Yashwant Sinha got 1,058 votes. Sinha, the opposition party’s candidate, said, “I heartily congratulate Draupadi Murmu on her victory in the presidential election 2022. I hope – indeed, every Indian hope – that as the 15th President of India, he will be without Will act as the guardian of the Constitution against any fear or favoritism.”

The counting of votes for the presidential election began on Thursday at the Parliament House in the national capital.

Murmu and Sinha were pitted against each other in the competition.

Given the support extended by various parties, National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidate Murmu had a clear edge over Sinha of the opposition.

Voting for the presidential election concluded on Monday (July 18) with over 99 percent turnout.
