DU’s 100 th convocation ceremony on 24 February Vice President of India Jagdeep Dhankhar will be the chief guest

New Delhi: The 100th convocation ceremony of the University of Delhi is being organized on 24 February, in which Vice President of India Jagdeep Dhankhar will be the chief guest. The ceremony was presided over by the Vice Chancellor of the University of Delhi, Prof. Yogesh Singh. Through this ceremony, 1 lakh 38 thousand and 20, UG and PG students who completed their degree in 2023 will be awarded the same. The program will be organized in the Multipurpose Hall located at the Sports Complex of the University of Delhi. Three books will also be released on this occasion. This time some new things are also
going to happen on the 100th convocation ceremony. Giving detailed information about the program, Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Yogesh Singh told that this time a change has been made in the convocation attire. Students will participate in the convocation wearing attire as per Indian culture. This time a lot of changes will be seen in the degree also.Students will be seen in stoles of different colors

The Vice Chancellor told that the stole for the P.G. students will be turquoise colored handloom fabric with golden border with the University logo and Shatabdi logo on both the sides. For U.G. students, there will be a yellow colored handloom fabric stole with a golden border with the University logo and Shatabdi logo on both the sides. Ph.D., D.M. and M.Ch. students of the university, there will be a red colored handloom fabric stole with a golden border with the University logo and Shatabdi logo on both the sides. He told that there will be purple colored stole for the officers while there will be maroon colored stole for the
principals and heads of departments.

Degrees will have 17 security features The Vice Chancellor said that this time many changes have been made in the degree also. This time the name of the students' mother has also been printed on the degree. Along with this, colorful photographs of the students will also be printed on the degree. Prof. Yogesh Singh said that the degree will have 17 different security features like currency notes, due to which it will not be easy to copy it. He said that along with the participants coming to the convocation, one family member has also been allowed to come and food has been arranged for them too.

207 medals/awards will be awarded
Vice Chancellor Prof. Yogesh Singh said that this time 207 medals/awards will be given in the convocation ceremony, of which 173 will be gold medals and certificates and 34 will be award certificates. He said that the total number of students receiving these medals/awards is 167, which includes 110 female and 57 male students. The number of PhD holders may also be around six hundred and fifty. The total number of degree holders for convocation is 138020 out of which 130697 are UG and 7323 PG students. These include 58545 male and 79475 female students.
