New Delhi, September 27 . Due to the increasing trend of air travel and religious travel in the country, employment opportunities in the travel and hospitality sector are increasing.
The Employment Outlook Report for the first half of FY 2025 released by TeamLease Services said that more than three out of every five (about 64 percent) employers in this sector are increasing their workforce due to increasing demand.
The report said that the sector is set for an annual growth rate of 8 to 10 percent, which shows that the industry remains booming. The report further stated that 19 percent of employers want to reduce employees. At the same time, 17 percent of employers do not want to make any change in the number of employees.
Karthik Narayan, Chief Executive, Staffing, TeamLease Services, said that due to the increasing demand for premium travel and technology-based changes, the way the industry operates is changing.
The reason for the increase in employment opportunities in the travel sector is the growth of the domestic travel market and the availability of artificial intelligence (AI)-based tech services such as ghost kitchens and personalized guest experiences.
The report said that 44 percent of employers want to grow their business through digital and offline promotions. It further said that by the end of 2025, the number of gig workers in the industry can increase to 15 to 20 percent. Apart from this, the number of seasonal jobs can increase by 25 to 30 percent during peak season. Four out of every five employers (about 82 percent) in the travel and hospitality sector are giving priority to sales.
