FDA warns against using of Hand Sanitizers’

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is warning the public not to use hand sanitizer products made by a Mexican company because they contain a poisonous substance called methanol, which can be deadly when absorbed through the skin or ingested.

Methanol is a toxic alcohol that is used industrially as a solvent, pesticide and alternative fuel source, according to the federal Centers for Disease Control.

Exposure to methanol can cause according to FDA:
– Nausea
– Vomiting
– Headache
– Blurred Vision
– Permanent Blindness
– Coma
– Permanent Damage To Nervous System
– Death

The nine products are known as All-Clean Hand Sanitizer:
-Esk Biochem Hand Sanitizer
-CleanCare NoGerm Advanced Hand Sanitizer -Lavar 70 Gel Hand Sanitizer
-The Good Gel Antibacterial Gel Hand Sanitizer
-Saniderm Advanced Hand Sanitizer
-Three varieties of CleanCare NoGerm Advanced Hand Sanitizer

Those exposed to hand sanitizers that contain methanol should seek medical care immediately, according to the FDA
