New Delhi, . India’s first Vande Metro train has been renamed as ‘NaMo Bharat Rapid Rail’. This information was given by top sources of Indian Railways. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is on a visit to Gujarat, will flag off the indigenously built ‘NaMo Bharat’ rapid rail service on Monday.
NaMo Bharat Rapid Rail will connect Bhuj in Kutch district of Gujarat to the capital Ahmedabad. This train will cover the distance of 360 km in less than 6 hours.
The train will be virtually flagged off from Bhuj railway station at 4.15 pm. The train service will officially start from Tuesday. This day is also PM Modi’s birthday.
The train will leave Bhuj at 5:05 am and reach Ahmedabad at 10:50 am. The return time from Ahmedabad is 5:30 pm and it will reach Bhuj at 11.20 pm.
Earlier, the Western Railway informed on social media platform X, “Vande Metro Train has 12 air-conditioned coaches with features like automatic sliding doors, modular interiors, LED lighting, toilets with vacuum evacuation, route map indicators, panoramic windows, CCTV, phone charging.”
The Namo Bharat Rapid Rail is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. The train is fitted with advanced safety systems like ‘Kavach’ to avoid collision. It also has an automatic smoke or fire detection system.
It has a seating capacity of 1,150 passengers. There is also a provision of padded sofas for the comfort of passengers. According to the Railway Ministry, it also has facilities like Divyang-friendly toilets, fully sealed flexible gangways and food service.
