New Delhi. The month of October is about to end, but the level of pollution in Delhi is continuously increasing. The situation has become such that now after GRAP-1, GRAP-2 restrictions have been implemented in Delhi. Under GRAP-2, many things will be banned in the areas of the national capital Delhi and NCR.
Actually, the level of pollution has increased in Delhi-NCR for the last few years. To improve the bad environment, GRAP is implemented in several phases in Delhi every time. The first phase of GRAP was implemented in Delhi on October 15 when the Air Quality Index (AQI) was between 201 to 300. However, now GRAP-2 has been implemented when the pollution level has crossed 300.
Under GRAP-2, there will be a ban on the use of diesel generators in Delhi-NCR. However, this order will not apply to hospitals, rail and metro services in the national capital. Apart from this, emphasis will be laid on cleanliness of the roads. Also, water will be sprinkled on the roads, while burning of coal and wood will also be completely banned.
Apart from this, under GRAP-2, the parking fee of private cars is increased. Also, people are appealed to use public transport only. Not only this, the frequency of CNG and electric buses and metro is increased.
Let us tell you that there are a total of four phases in GRAP. The first phase is applicable when the AQI is between 201 to 300. After this, the second phase is applicable when the AQI is between 301 to 400, while the third phase is applicable when the AQI is between 401 to 450. At the same time, in the fourth phase, it is implemented when the AQI is more than 450.
