Dibrugarh| After the arrest of fugitive Sikh fundamentalist Amritpal Singh, the process is on to shift him to Dibrugarh Central Jail in Assam, where nine of his associates are already lodged. Heavy security deployment is being observed at Dibrugarh’s Mohanbari airport since Sunday morning. According to police sources, Amritpal will be brought in a special aircraft along with officials of NSA and Punjab Police.
A special team of Assam Police will be present at the airport.
Meanwhile, security has been beefed up outside Dibrugarh Central Jail as well. There was already a multi-layered security arrangement, but more security personnel were deployed on Sunday.
Significantly, Amritpal Singh’s uncle Harjit Singh and nine of his associates are lodged in Dibrugarh Central Jail since last month.
