How did the sweetness of 300-year-old Tirupati Prasad turn bitter? There was controversy 40 years ago as well

New Delhi, There is a political uproar across the country after it came to light that animal fat and fish oil were used in the Prasad (laddu) of Tirupati temple in Andhra Pradesh. Everyone is raising questions about this matter. It is being alleged that the faith of Hindus has been tampered with by adulterating the Prasad. However, this is not the first time that the Prasad of Tirupati temple has given rise to controversy. Similar questions were raised about 40 years ago as well.

According to media reports, questions were raised for the first time about the quality of the temple’s Prasad in the 80s. A retired officer had claimed that the laddus he had taken from Tirupati temple had mold and nails in them. After these allegations of the officer, the matter gained momentum and the controversy reached the Andhra Pradesh Assembly.

Questions were raised about the falling quality of the Prasad and then it was also investigated. According to reports, a report also came out in this regard in 1985. After this, the then Chief Minister NT Rama Rao took action and many employees were fired. Also, the use of scientific methods in making Prasad was approved.

However, the new controversy has brought bitterness to the sweetness of the 300-year-old Tirupati Prasad.

Let us tell you that Tirupati Venkateshwara Temple is located in the hill town of Tirumala in Tirupati district of Andhra Pradesh. This temple is dedicated to Lord Venkateshwara, a form of Lord Vishnu. It is believed that he appeared on earth to save mankind from troubles. Therefore this place is also called Kaliyuga Vaikuntha.

This temple is also called by other names like Tirumala Temple, Tirupati Temple and Tirupati Balaji Temple. This temple is run by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD), which comes under the jurisdiction of the Government of Andhra Pradesh.

The history of Tirupati is also centuries old, but there is a lot of disagreement among historians about it. It is said that the Chola, Hoysala and Vijayanagara kings had contributed significantly in the construction of this temple. The history of the Prasad of this temple is also said to be 300 years old. According to media reports, the practice of making Prasad in the temple started around the year 1715, which was also given the Jai tag in the year 2014.
