In Chandrayaan-4 mission, we will go to the moon and return: S Somnath

New Delhi, September 20. The Union Cabinet has given the green signal to four important space missions to be carried out by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) in the future. After getting approval from the government for four new projects, ISRO Chairman S Somnath had a special conversation

During this time, the ISRO Chairman gave information about his preparations and challenges regarding the four new space projects. Regarding the approval of four new projects from the government, Somnath said that the government has approved four projects and ISRO is fully prepared.

Describing Chandrayaan-4 as a special project, Somnath said, “This time, we will go to the moon and return. This is an additional challenge. In Chandrayaan-3, we landed on the moon and conducted experiments, this is the difference. Landing on the moon and coming back is the challenge of this project.” About the current status of Gaganyaan, Somnath said ISRO is preparing for the first unmanned mission. The first unmanned mission will be through CRM, followed by two more unmanned missions leading to the manned mission. He also said that the rocket is ready and the integration of the crew module is underway.

Somnath said about the mission to Venus that there is interest among scientists in India for this mission. There are enough people in the country in laboratories and other areas who are interested in it. So we conducted workshops to see what kind of scientific interest is there in the country. Based on that, we have identified our goals and prepared the instruments accordingly.
