New Delhi, March 9. India won the Champions Trophy title for the third time on Sunday. With the brilliant innings of 76 runs by captain Rohit Sharma and important contributions from Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya, India defeated New Zealand by four wickets and captured the Champions Trophy for the third time. Many leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed happiness over this great victory of Team India and congratulated Team India.
Congratulating Team India on Christmas, Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote, “An extraordinary game and an extraordinary result! Proud of our cricket team for bringing the ICC Champions Trophy home. They performed brilliantly throughout the tournament. Congratulations to our team for the excellent performance.”
