Jagdeep Dhankhar resigns from the post of Vice President, citing health problems

New Delhi, July 21  Jagdeep Dhankhar resigned from the post of Vice President on Monday. He has cited health problems as the reason for his resignation. He has sent his resignation to President Draupadi Murmu.

Jagdeep Dhankhar posted his resignation letter on the social media platform ‘X’ and said, “Respected President, I resign from the post of Vice President of India with immediate effect in accordance with Article 67 (A) of the Constitution to give priority to health care and follow medical advice. I express my heartfelt gratitude to the President of India for her unwavering support and the pleasant and wonderful working relationship we have had during my tenure.”

He further said that I express my deep gratitude to the Prime Minister and the esteemed Council of Ministers. The cooperation and support of the Prime Minister has been invaluable, and I have learned a lot during my tenure. The warmth, trust and affection I have received from all the members of Parliament will always remain in my memory. I am deeply grateful for the invaluable experiences and insights I have gained as Vice President in our great democracy.

Jagdeep Dhankhar further said that it has been a privilege and satisfaction for me to witness and participate in India’s remarkable economic progress and unprecedented development during this important period. It has been a true honor for me to serve during this transformative era in our nation’s history. As I leave this prestigious post, I feel proud of India’s global rise and unprecedented achievements and have unwavering faith in its bright future.
