Srinagar: Three soldiers were injured in an encounter between terrorists and security forces in the Halan forest area of Kulgam district in south Kashmir on Friday.
Police said that three jawans were injured in the encounter. The injured jawans have been taken to the hospital for treatment. The security forces have intensified the search operation in the area.
A joint team of police and security forces had received information about the presence of terrorists in the area. Based on this information, the team started the search operation. When the terrorists saw themselves surrounded by the security forces, they opened fire. After this, the security forces also started retaliating.
Several encounters between terrorists and security forces have taken place across Kashmir in the recent past in which several terrorists and their commanders have been eliminated.
