Katra: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday inaugurated the Anji Bridge and the world’s tallest railway arch Chenab Bridge built on the Chenab River in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir. Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav were also present with him on this special occasion. The Prime Minister also flagged off the Katra-Srinagar Vande Bharat Express train.
Some pictures of the Prime Minister have also surfaced, in which he is seen carrying the tricolor on the Chenab Bridge. Earlier, the Prime Minister inspected the world’s tallest Chenab Bridge built on the Chenab River. He also spoke to the officials in this regard. After the inspection, he also met Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav.
Also, the Prime Minister also spoke to the workers associated with the USBRL project.
The Chenab Rail Bridge, located at a height of 359 meters above the river, is the world’s highest railway arch bridge. It is a 1,315 meter long steel arch bridge designed to withstand earthquakes and wind conditions. This bridge is important for better connectivity between Jammu and Srinagar.
The Chenab Bridge and Anji Bridge are an important part of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link Project, under which this bridge will connect the Kashmir Valley with the rest of India, reduce travel time to about 3 hours and promote trade and tourism in the region.
Let us tell you that this is the first visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Jammu and Kashmir after Operation Sindoor, where he is going to give projects worth Rs 46 thousand crore to the people of Kashmir.
In view of the Prime Minister’s visit to Jammu and Kashmir, special security arrangements have been made by the police-administration. Police forces have been deployed at all sensitive places.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah himself visited the venue of the Prime Minister’s program and inspected the preparations there, information about which he gave on his social media ‘X’ handle.
