Kavita in judicial custody till 23 April

New Delhi: A Delhi court on Monday booked Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLC K in a money laundering case related to the alleged liquor policy scam. Kavita was sent to judicial custody until April 23.

After CBI custody ended, Kavita was produced at Rouse Avenue Court. Judge Kaveri Baweja sent him to jail until April 23 in the CBI case. Even in the ED case, his custody is until April 23.

Kavita said in Rouse Avenue Court that this is not CBI custody, but BJP custody. They have been asking again and again for two years, there is nothing new.

The CBI had arrested Kavita from Tihar Jail on April 11. He was presented in court the next day. The CBI had sought five-day custody on the basis of statements of witnesses, WhatsApp chats, and financial transaction documents related to a land. He has been considered as a key conspirator in paying Rs 100 crore to AAP through accused Vijay Nair and others in the liquor policy.

The court had said, “The investigating agency has been able to show from the record that custodial interrogation is necessary to confront the evidence and witnesses collected so far to unearth the larger conspiracy in the case.”
