Know what ABVP’s DUSU candidates do and where they study

New Delhi, September 20  Both the student organizations, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and NSUI, have officially announced the names of their candidates for the Delhi University Students Union. The Vidyarthi Parishad has fielded Rishabh Chaudhary for the post of president. Rishabh Chaudhary is originally a resident of Ganaur, Sonipat in Haryana. He has graduated in History and Political Science from Shyam Lal College of Delhi University. He has been playing games like volleyball and kabaddi. He has also been trying to improve the sports related arrangements in the university. Currently, he is studying in the Department of Buddhist Studies of Delhi University.

Bhanu Pratap Singh, who has been fielded by ABVP for the post of vice-president, is also originally from Haryana. He is a resident of Faridabad. He has done graduation in Psychology (Hons) from Sri Aurobindo College of Delhi University. A few years ago, he was elected as the student union secretary in Sri Aurobindo College. Currently, he is a first year student of the Law Campus Centre of Delhi University.

ABVP’s candidate for the post of secretary, Mitravinda Karanwal, is originally from Chandpur, Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh. According to the student council, Mitravinda has been a brilliant student in the academic field. She passed the Intermediate examination with 99 percent marks. Mitravinda has worked to make women of Delhi University aware of various subjects under the Ritumati Abhiyan and was elected as the student union secretary in Laxmibai College last year. Currently, she is a third year student of History (Hons) at Laxmibai College of Delhi University.

Aman Kapasiya, who has been nominated by the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad for the post of joint secretary, is a resident of Delhi. He has done graduation in Hindi (Hons) from PGDAV Evening College of Delhi University. Aman has been interested in sports and is a national level player in archery. He is currently studying in the Department of Buddhist Studies of Delhi University. Aman did an impressive job by providing necessary facilities to the students who were stranded in 11 colleges of Delhi University during the complex time of the global pandemic Corona period.

At the same time, NSUI has made Raunak Khatri its candidate for the post of president in the student union elections. Yash Nandal is the NSUI candidate for the post of vice-president. NSUI has fielded Namrata Jeff Meena for the post of secretary. Lokesh Chaudhary has been made the candidate for the joint secretary.

DUSU elections are to be held on September 27. Voting will start at 8.30 am. Delhi University Students Union elections will be held in the colleges and five departments of Delhi University. Students of all these colleges and departments are voters of DUSU elections. In the last student union elections, ABVP won three posts including the president and NSUI won one post.
