New Delhi: Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday and shared his vision for a ‘Viksit Delhi 2047’.
An official familiar with the conversation said that LG Sandhu sat across from him in the Prime Minister’s office and shared his experiences at Lok Niwas. He also briefed him on the plans being made to fulfill PM Modi’s vision of a ‘Viksit Delhi 2047’.
In a message on the social media platform ‘X’, Sandhu wrote, “Met Prime Minister Narendra Modi this morning.”
On March 13, Sandhu met with President Draupadi Murmu and discussed issues related to the national capital.
In a message on ‘X’, the LG wrote, “I am honored to have met the President of India, Draupadi Murmuji, and to have received her guidance for the journey ahead. I am grateful for her encouragement.”
Earlier, the LG had shared his experience enjoying the spring flowers in the Amrit Udyan located in the Rashtrapati Bhavan complex.
Posting a photo of himself taken on the complex’s famous lawns, he wrote, “It was great to take a walk in the famous gardens of Rashtrapati Bhavan this morning. It was also nice to meet so many Delhiites enjoying the spring flowers.”
The LG also reviewed the security, sanitation, and health situation with officials. After meeting with Health Secretary Rupesh Kumar Thakur and Additional Chief Secretary of Food and Civil Supplies, Prashant Goyal, Sandhu wrote on ‘X’, “Emphasis on preparedness, coordination, and effective response.”
During the day, the Delhi Police Commissioner and Municipal Corporation Commissioner also welcomed the LG.
Sandhu, who took charge as the new Lieutenant Governor (LG) of Delhi on March 11, also held discussions with Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and her cabinet colleagues earlier this week.
In these meetings, he discussed development and security-related issues with officials. Lok Niwas said in a message on the social media platform ‘X’, “Chief Minister of GNCT of Delhi Rekha Gupta, along with her cabinet colleagues, met with Delhi LG Taranjit Singh Sandhu. She briefed the LG about the ongoing initiatives towards building a ‘developed Delhi’.”
Lok Niwas further said, “The Lieutenant Governor of Delhi outlined the key challenges and opportunities, as well as the collective resolve to develop Delhi as a global capital in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision.”
