Top leaders and common citizens of Maharashtra paid tributes to the late Balasaheb Thackeray, the founder and mentor of Shiv Sena, on his eighth death anniversary on Tuesday. Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, led by his wife Rashmi Thackeray, son and minister Aditya Thackeray, besides ministers, leaders of other parties paid floral tributes at the tomb of the departed leader at Shivaji Park.
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said, “A heartfelt tribute to Balasaheb Thackeray, who always ruled the hearts of the Marathas.”
He said that the work of late Balasaheb Thackeray was given special importance as an effective speaker, cartoonist and political commentator and reminded political activists of his evergreen attitude. ”
Similarly, Congress leader and minister Ashok Chavan also paid tribute to Bal Thackeray by remembering him.
Bharatiya Janata Party leader and Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Devendra Fadnavis called the late leader committed to his thoughts and speeches, while Prasad Lad called him a ‘Hindu heart emperor, nationalist, enlightened leader’.
Maharashtra Navnirman Sena spokesperson Sandeep Deshpande questioned that it has been more than a year since the government came to power, notwithstanding, the Maha Vikas Agadi government has failed to erect a memorial to Balasaheb Thackeray at the site near Shivaji Park.
