Mallikarjun Kharge wrote a letter to the countrymen on Republic Day, attacked the policies of the central government

New Delhi, January 26. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge attacked the policies of the central government while wishing the countrymen a Happy Republic Day. In a two-page letter, he stressed on maintaining constitutional values.

Kharge wrote on the social media platform X, “My dear fellow citizens, on behalf of the Indian National Congress, I wish you all a very happy Republic Day. This year we are completing 75 years of adopting the Constitution of India, the soul of the Indian Republic.”

Kharge shared a message on X and remembered the constitution makers, scientists, and farmers. He wrote, “We pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Sardar Patel, Babasaheb Dr. BR Ambedkar, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Maulana Azad, Sarojini Naidu and many others who contributed tirelessly in shaping our great republic. We pay tribute to each member of the Constituent Assembly who with their wisdom, created a remarkable document that represents the will of our diverse people.” Praising the contribution of the army, he further wrote, “We salute every soldier of our armed forces, paramilitary forces, and security establishment who have made exemplary sacrifices in maintaining the integrity and sovereignty of this country. We are also grateful to our scientists and teachers, whose contribution to nation-building is unparalleled. They have ensured that our country becomes a superpower of knowledge and technology. We are also indebted to our Annadaata, hardworking farmers, who have put food on our plate. We express our gratitude to crores of daily wage laborers, workers, because they are the hands that are building India brick by brick. We also want to thank all those artists, writers and sportspersons who have contributed so much in protecting and building the vibrant cultural diversity of our country.”

After this, Kharge attacked the divisive forces, which according to him is not good for the country. Wrote, “Universities and autonomous institutions are being infiltrated continuously. A large part of the media has become a propaganda tool for the ruling party. Targeting opposition leaders and stifling dissent has become the sole policy of those in power. Over the past decade, a vicious, hateful agenda steeped in religious fundamentalism has sought to divide our society. Minorities are being targeted. Weaker sections – SCs, STs, OBCs, the poor and minorities – are being treated as second class citizens. Atrocities and unheard-of violence against them have become common. Manipur has been burning for 21 months, but there is no accountability at the helm of power. Economic inequality has grown to horrific proportions. The country’s precious resources are being handed over to their close billionaire friends.” Attacking the central government, Kharge wrote, “Any scam that comes to light is crushed by terming it anti-national. The ruling party follows pseudo-nationalism as they force our deprived youth to carry the flag of nationalism and religious supremacy, but do nothing to provide them employment. The nation is living in a period of economic turmoil.”

Closing his speech, he urged to preserve the value spirit of the Constitution. It wrote, “Every sacred principle of the Constitution is being torn to pieces by an authoritarian regime. So my dear countrymen, now the time has come to protect the ideas and ideals of our Constitution – justice, freedom, equality and fraternity. Let us maintain the values stated by our founders. Be ready to make every sacrifice to protect the Constitution. This will be the true tribute to our ancestors. Once again, I wish you a very Happy Republic Day. Jai Bapu, Jai Bhim, Jai Samvidhaan. Jai Hind.”
