The Indian Army gave a befitting reply to Pakistan through ‘Operation Sindoor’: Mallikarjun Kharge

New Delhi, May 7 Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge praised the bold action taken by the Indian Armed Forces against terrorist hideouts in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) under ‘Operation Sindoor’. He said that the Indian Armed Forces have given a befitting reply to cross-border terrorism through this operation, which the country is proud of.

Saluting the courage, determination and patriotism of the Indian soldiers, Kharge said, “We salute the valor of our brave soldiers. Since the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, the Indian National Congress has supported every decisive action against terrorism, showing solidarity with the armed forces and the government.”

He further said that India’s national policy against all forms of terrorism originating from Pakistan and PoK is very clear and firm. There is a great need for unity at all levels to protect the national unity and integrity of the great country of India. The Indian National Congress stands shoulder to shoulder with the brave soldiers of the country. History is witness that our heroes have always given their lives for the unity and integrity of the country, keeping the national interest paramount.

Referring to the Congress Working Committee meeting, Kharge said, “Today we had called a meeting of the Working Committee. We support the steps the government is taking in view of the recent events in the country. At the same time, we are proud of our armed forces, who have taken bold action against terrorist hideouts through ‘Operation Sindoor’. I appeal to all citizens to unite to strengthen the unity and integrity of the country.”

Meanwhile, the Government of India has called an all-party meeting on Thursday. “The government has called a meeting of all party leaders on May 8, 2025 at 11 am in Committee Room: G-074, Parliament Library Building, Parliament Complex, New Delhi,” Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju wrote in a post on social media platform X.
