Kolkata| West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday banned the controversial film ‘The Kerala Story’ in the state. He has announced a ban on the screening of ‘The Kerala Story’. CM Mamta Chief Secretary H.K. Dwivedi to take necessary steps to ensure that the ban is imposed.
Some scenes in the film can affect peace and harmony in West Bengal, the chief minister told media persons on Monday. Therefore, we have decided to ban its screening everywhere in the state. The decision has been taken to maintain peace and harmony.
Announcing the ban, he took a dig at the Left government in Kerala for not taking a similar step. Banerjee said I do not support the CPI(M). I want to talk about people. The CPI(M) has a secret pact with the BJP. Instead of merely criticizing the film, the Kerala government should have taken a similar step.
He also said that some political parties are playing with fire. He said- He is trying to divide people on the basis of religion and caste. That is why ‘The Kashmir Files’ was created only to defame people of a particular community. And now we have ‘The Kerala Story’, which is an untrue story.
Banerjee also said that she has information about plans to come up with ‘The Bengal Files’. Chief Minister said, Now he is trying to malign the image of West Bengal.
