New Delhi| Indian weightlifter Mirabai Chanu, who won a silver medal in the 49kg category at the Tokyo Olympics, reached the capital on Monday. The 26-year-old lifter had tweeted before leaving Tokyo.
Mirabai tweeted, “Going back home. Thank you Tokyo 2020 for giving me a memorable moment in my life.”
Mirabai won the silver medal on the very first day of the Tokyo Olympics, giving the country its first medal in this Olympics.
Mirabai is the second Indian weightlifter to win a medal in weightlifting after Karnam Maleswari at the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
