Mumbai| Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Wednesday arrested Bollywood actor Ejaz Khan in the drugs case. The officials gave this information. Ejaz Khan arrived at the Mumbai airport from Jaipur on Tuesday, when the NCB Mumbai Zonal Unit detained him for questioning.
According to NCB zonal director Sameer Wankhede, the actor’s name surfaced during the interrogation of Shadab Sheikh alias Batata, a notorious drug peddler who was arrested last Thursday.
Ejaz Khan was interrogated for several hours at the NCB office and later arrested for his alleged role in the crime and connection with the drug mafia.
Shortly before being taken to the NCB office, Khan – who has acted in several films and participated in TV reality shows like Bigg Boss – claims that he was not detained and came to meet the authorities on his own volition.
An NCB official said a team raided several places in Andheri West in a drug case.
The NCB has so far arrested about 36 drug peddlers. After the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput under mysterious circumstances on June 14, 2020, the drug angle is under investigation in Bollywood.
