NDMC CHAIRMAN DISTRIBUTES 811 PRE-LOADED TABLETS TO STUDENTS OF NDMC SCHOOL

New Delhi:Online teaching for the students of NDMC Schools has been initiated during this pandemic. New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has accordingly launched a pilot project to provide free tablets to the students of Class Xth and XIIth of four NDMC Schools – Atal Adarsh Vidyalya-Havelock Square, Atal Adarsh Balika Vidyalaya-Gole Market, Navyug School-Sarojini Nagar and Navyug School, Peshwa Road, New Delhi to ensure online learning for these academically important and crucial classes.

Chairperson- NDMC Shri Dharmendra, launched this pilot project by distributing tablets to students of these schools at Atal Adarsh Bengali Balika Vidyalaya, Gole Market, New Delhi today. The programme was  attended by the Secretary- NDMC, all HOD along with Heads of the four schools and teachers.

On the occasion, two tinkering labs in the Atal Adarsh Bengali Balika Vidyalaya, Gole Market and Atal Adarsh Balika Vdyalaya, Gole Market, New Delhi were also inaugurated by the Chairperson, NDMC.

Chairperson, NDMC highlighted the need for promoting e-learning in general and more particularly during pandemic time and establishing tinkering labs in schools to promote scientific thinking and innovative ideas

These tablets are being provided by NDMC free of cost to these students under Smart City Project and are with a 10-inch display and 32 GB expandable memory. These tablets are pre-loaded with study material for respective classes. It will enable students to connect for interactive online classes being taken by the teachers in home-based learning and also it will provide them with pre-loaded educational content.  NDMC is also providing monthly Rs. 200/- internet pack to all students of Class Xth and XIIth of all NDMC Schools for accessing data since April 2020.

With a vision to ‘Cultivate one Million children in India as Neoteric Innovators’, NITI AAYOG, Govt. of India under Atal Innovation Mission is establishing Atal Tinkering Laboratories (ATLs) in schools across India. The objective of this scheme is to foster curiosity, creativity and imagination in young minds and inculcate skills such as design mindset, computational thinking, adaptive learning, physical computing etc. ATL is a work space where young minds can give shape to their ideas through hands on do-it-yourself mode and learn innovative skills.
