NDMC Chairman hoisted the National Flag on the occasion of 77th Independence Day.

New Delhi:  New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) – Chairperson, Shri Amit Yadav hoisted the National Flag on the occasion of 77th Independence Day of India, at NDMC Headquarter – Palika Kendra in a ceremony today.

On the occasion of hoisting the Flag at NDMC Headquarter, Vice-Chairman – Shri Satish Upadhyay, Council Members – Shri Kuljeet Singh Chahal and Smt. Vishakha Sailani, Secretary- NDMC, Dr. Ankita Chakravarty, Senior Officers and Officials, School students, teachers were also present.

While remembering and paying his tribute to the great freedom fighters and  Jawans of Army and Paramilitary Forces who laid their lives for the Freedom of the Nation and protecting the boundaries of our countries from the enemy, Shri Amit Yadav commended and lauded their role in the Freedom Movement and Security of Nation.

Shri Yadav outlined the achievements of NDMC in his Independent Day Speech and recognized the commendable work of NDMC team specially to provide civic amenities to the citizens of the core area of National Capital smoothly by e-governance as well as m-governance. He said that as a prime Municipal body of the Nation we are committed to provide the better services to our citizens in its area.

Chairman, NDMC emphasized on the resolution to ensure ease of living of our citizens, adopt lifestyle for Environment (LiFE), ensuring cleanliness of the city and enhancing citizen participation. G20 Summit preparedness are reflected in most of our area of action in forthcoming days.

The Horticulture Department displayed the floral decorated boards on the theme of Har Ghar Tiranga, G-20 Summit and greeting for 77th Independence Day at the 18 different sites like major road crossing, roundabouts and main public places in New Delhi area

Before hoisting the National Flag, the Security and Fire Personnel of the NDMC gave guard of honour to the Chairperson-NDMC. A band troupe of combined Fire and Security Department played the patriotic tunes in the programme. NDMC School students also performed patriotic songs on the occasion.

The Chairman, NDMC released the tricolour balloons with the school students and distributed the sweets amongst the school children and employees of NDMC.

Thousands of National flags were displayed at the electric poles in the entire NDMC. Apart from this 18 floral boards congratulating citizens for 77th Independence Day along roadsides were also displayed in the New Delhi area by NDMC.
