NDMC inks MoA with CRRI for improvement of Structure & Quality of roads and Training.

New Delhi: New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with CSIR-Central Road Research Institute (CSIR-CRRI) for implementation of Functional and Structural Evaluation of Roads, Construction Quality Supervision and Training of Engineers and Staff Members at NDMC Headquarter, Palika Kendra, New Delhi today.

The MoA was signed today by representative from NDMC Shri Sanjay Arora – Chief Engineer and representative from CRRI Prof. (Dr.) Manoranjan Parida – Director in the presence of senior officers of NDMC and CRRI.

NDMC and CRRI have signed the agreement to collaborate on the various fields of interest for knowledge-led development of New Delhi Road infrastructure.

The aim of this MoA is to provide technical guidance in ascertaining the maintenance needs, thickness of overlays and also quality control with broad objective to provide technically sound and economical solutions. According to agreement, CRRI and NDMC agrees to work together towards a common goal for maintenance of road network in the city and training to Engineers and Staff members.

Under the scope of work of the agreement, NDMC requires the consultancy on conditional assessment of pavements for suggesting recarpeting layers and Third Party quality assessment for Road works. And Training Programme on Pavement Evaluation Techniques and their application for Maintenance & Rehabilitation is also the part of the agreement.

In order to achieve the long term objectives, this MoA will be valid for a period of 5 (five) years from the date of signing. Thereafter, the same can be extended for an agreeable tenure for next 5 years on the same terms and conditions.
