NDMC Members plant the saplings of Peepal at Purana Quila Road

New Delhi: With the aim to keep and upgrade the greenery of New Delhi area, Members of the New Delhi Municipal Council(NDMC), Shri Kuljeet Singh Chahal and Shri Girish Sachdeva have planted the well-grown Peepal Tree at Purana Quila Road between Indian Gate to Pragati Maidan in association with Horticulture Department today.

Being a Lutyens Delhi is part of under submerged oldest mountain range of Aravalli and Raisina Hill, according to the soil profile it’s the most successful and sustainable trees as being very shallow and rocky and fragments.

Peepal tree is one of the best option to suit this soil profile and the same could be seen in many of the roads adjacent to central ridge like Mandir Marg, Bhagat Singh Marg, Outer circle CP, Mother Teresa Road, Sardar Patel Marg, Panch Sheel Marg, Bhaiveer Singh Marg and Shankar road etc.
