New Delhi, 01st October The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) organized a felicitation ceremony as part of the ongoing ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ (SHS) campaign celebrating the contributions of various stakeholders who have supported NDMC in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards over the past 10 years. Under the theme ‘Swabhaav Swachhata, Sanskaar Swachhata’ the event underscored the role of all the stakeholders in maintaining cleanliness into daily habits and cultural practices.
On the occasion, Chairman, NDMC – Shri Ashwini Kumar presented the certificates of appreciation to the top-performing schools, Safaimitras, Departments and wards of NDMC for recognizing their outstanding contributions in ensuring cleanliness in their respective areas. These awards were a testament to their unwavering dedication and commitment to creating a cleaner, greener New Delhi.
In a move to further promote environmental awareness, NDMC also distributed free green compost to all participants of the award ceremony, encouraging sustainable practices at the grassroots level.
Alongside the felicitation ceremony, an exhibition showcasing ‘Waste to Art’ articles created by students from NDMC schools captivated the audience, demonstrating innovative ways to turn waste into functional and artistic creations, aligning with the city’s commitment to sustainability.
Chairman, NDMC took a round of the exhibition and interacted with the students on their creations in the exhibition. As many as 42 Schools participated in the exhibition with their students exhibits.
The Swachhata Felicitation ceremony highlighted the importance of community participation and acknowledging the exemplary work carried out by NDMC, its employees and the citizens.
