New Delhi| Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved the purchase of one lakh portable oxygen concentrators from PM Care Fund. This decision was taken in a high-level meeting convened to repair the oxygen supply system in the country. Prime Minister Modi instructed to buy oxygen concentrators at the earliest and make them available to states with more corona cases.
The meeting also decided to set up 500 new PSA oxygen plants. These plants will be set up through DRDO and CSIR. Prior to this, the process of setting up 713 plants is already underway. These plants will provide an oxygen system in the hospitals of the district headquarters.
The country has been witnessing more than three and a half lakh infections every day for the past several days. Severe patients of Kovid 19 are in need of oxygen for treatment, but states like Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra have an oxygen crisis. In view of this, now preparations are being made to set up oxygen plants in all district hospitals from the PM Care Fund. There is also a plan to purchase an oxygen concentrator from the PM Care Fund to repair the oxygen system.
