New Delhi| Open book examinations at Delhi University began on Monday. These exams have been conducted only for the final year students. These examinations have been conducted for all three categories of Regular, SOL, and NCWEB students.
Delhi University this time students will get three hours to take the exam and 60 minutes to download the question paper and upload the answer sheet. For all categories of students, this exam is being conducted online mode only.
According to the University of Delhi, if there is any technical snag during the online examination, in such a situation, a provision has been made to give 60 minutes extra to the students. However, for this, students will have to show screenshots of technical faults.
Delhi University Dean Examinations Professor DS Rawat told that the examinations for the final year students have started from June 7. Earlier, this examination of final year students was to be held from June 1. The exam is being conducted through online means through OBE i.e. Open Book Exam.
On the other hand, Chandramani Dev, president of Delhi University Students’ Organization CYSS, has demanded immediate postponement of these examinations. Chandramani said that while another large number of teachers have died due to corona, on the other hand, hundreds of students are still corona positive. Many students are at their native place outside Delhi. Where they don’t even have an internet facility. In such a situation, it is not fair to take these examinations now.
However, the university administration has clarified that online classes and open book exams will be conducted as before. This decision has been taken to save the academic year of the students.
In view of the Corona transition, the students of Intermediate Semester of Regular, School of Open Learning, and Non-Collegiate Women’s Education Board studying in Delhi University will be ready from the result ABE. Through ABE i.e. Assessment Based Evaluation, the examination results of these students will be prepared and they will be promoted to the next class.
Dean Examinations Professor DS Rawat told that the examinations of the final year students will now start from June 7 instead of June 1. The final year students’ examinations are being conducted through online mediums through OBE i.e. Open Book Exam.
