Lucknow, June 2 . Rajiv Krishna, the new acting Director General of Police (DGP) of Uttar Pradesh, in his first press conference on Monday after taking charge, promised to curb organized crime, stating his priorities.
Rajiv Krishna said that technology will be used extensively. Technology and AI will be game changers for these priorities. He talked about curbing organized crime and criminals.
He said that he has worked on this earlier as well. The firm stance on the policy of zero tolerance against crime and criminals will continue, decisive action will be ensured against organized crime. This policy will be the cornerstone of the law enforcement strategy, which aims to create a safe environment for all citizens.
The DGP said that special emphasis will be laid on the prevention and solution of crimes against women. His initiative will be to empower women and enhance their sense of safety and security. Public grievance redressal and successful resolution of public grievances will be his top priority.
He said the police will adopt a very empathetic and sensitive approach in dealing with all complaints at every level, ensuring that the voice of citizens is heard and resolved promptly. There will be zero tolerance towards anyone trying to disrupt the system. We will uphold the rule of law at all costs.
Rajiv Krishna said cybercrime has emerged as a significant threat to citizens in recent years. The Uttar Pradesh police has responded by strengthening the infrastructure for its prevention and detection. It will be further strengthened over time, leveraging advanced technologies to stay ahead of cyber threats.
He said the scope and delivery of police services offered by the Uttar Pradesh police will be further improved. We will give priority to police welfare, ensuring that our personnel remain motivated in performing their duties. The skills and knowledge of police officers and personnel will be identified and used to improve them further.
