New Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the United States from September 21 to 23. He will also attend the fourth Quad Leaders’ Summit in Wilmington, Delaware during this period. The event will be hosted by US President Joe Biden on September 21. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said on Tuesday, “Following the request of the US side to host the Quad Summit this year, India has agreed to host the next Quad Summit in 2025.” The ministry said, “At the Quad Summit, the leaders will review the progress achieved by the Quad in the past one year. They will also set the agenda for the coming year to help the countries of the Indo-Pacific region meet their development goals and aspirations.” PM Modi will participate in the Quad meeting along with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese. At the same time, a farewell meeting will also be held for Joe Biden and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida.
Joe Biden is not contesting the next US presidential election, and Kishida is going to leave his post. Prime Minister Modi will address the ‘Summit of the Future’ at the United Nations General Assembly in New York on September 23. Its theme this time has been kept as ‘Multilateral Solutions for a Better Tomorrow’. The Ministry of External Affairs said, “A large number of global leaders are expected to participate in the summit. During the summit, the Prime Minister will hold bilateral meetings with several world leaders and discuss issues of mutual interest.” While in New York, Prime Minister Modi will also address a gathering of the Indian community on September 22.
PM Modi will interact with CEOs of leading US companies to promote greater cooperation between the two countries in cutting-edge areas such as AI, quantum computing, semiconductors and biotechnology.
The diaspora event ‘Modi and US Progress Together’ will be held in Uniondale, a suburb of New York. Over 25,000 people have applied for tickets for the event. “The Prime Minister is also expected to interact with active think tanks and other stakeholders in the India-US bilateral landscape,” the Ministry of External Affairs said.
