Vikas was Hiding in a Hotel
Vikas had left the hotel before the police team arrived but could catch hold of three men who were helping Vikas in hiding, police seized four pistols and 44 live catridges from the arrested three.
Vikas attracted national attention when he killed 8 policeman in the Kanpur encounter which led to an uproar in the country, he is survived by his wife Richa Dubey, who has also fled along with her son post Kanpur encounter. Richa used to frequently stand for local civic body elections.
Amar Dubey killed by police
The gangster’s closest aide Amar Dubey was shot down by the Special Task force [STF] in Uttar Pradesh, who was said to be incharge of the security of Vikas Dubey. The police is trying to establish contacts in this chase and has also doubled the reward on Vikas Dubey to 5 lakh.
Amar was the third aide to Vikas who was killed by the police. Along with the dead Amar Dubey, 18 others are charged with the murder of 8 policeman on Friday, with bounty of 25,000 on each. A manhunt is carried out for finding all the absconders, with the subsequent alerts being raised in Faridabad, Gurgaon and Delhi.
