President Kovind meets PM Modi, expresses concern over security lapse

New Delhi | President Ram Nath Kovind met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Thursday and expressed concern over the security lapse during his visit to Punjab on Wednesday.

Rashtrapati Bhavan has given this information in a tweet quoting President Kovind.

Rashtrapati Bhavan tweeted, President Ram Nath Kovind met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Rashtrapati Bhavan and inquired about the incident of security lapse a day ago during his visit to Punjab.

The tweet further said that the President has expressed concern about the lapse in (Prime Minister’s) security.

PM Modi’s convoy faced a serious security breach in Punjab on Wednesday as his convoy was intercepted by a crowd, leaving the convoy of PM Modi’s vehicles stuck on a flyover for several minutes. The protesters had blocked the road for about 20 minutes. PM Modi had abandoned plans to fly to the rally venue due to bad weather and was proceeding by road from Bathinda.

The incident has created a lot of political and BJP and Congress are blaming each other.
