Gurugram, July 12 . Deepak Yadav, the accused father arrested in connection with the murder of national tennis player Radhika Yadav, was produced in Gurugram court on Saturday, where he has been sent to 14-day judicial custody. Accused father Deepak will be kept in Bhondsi jail.
Earlier, Deepak Yadav had confessed to the crime of killing his daughter Radhika, after which Gurugram Police took permission for one-day remand from the court. Police arrested Radhika’s father from the spot on Thursday. After the completion of the remand period, accused Deepak was produced again in the court on Saturday.
25-year-old daughter Radhika Yadav was murdered in Sushant Lok Phase-2, Sector-57, Gurugram, in which her father was found to be the accused. In the preliminary investigation of the police, it was found that her father Deepak Yadav was angry with his daughter Radhika Yadav for running a tennis academy. Allegedly, Deepak asked to close the tennis academy several times, but daughter Radhika Yadav did not agree. On this, the father shot and killed the daughter.
However, Ankit Patel, who was Radhika’s coach, says on this incident, “No one can kill anyone like this. Such incidents are not acceptable at all.”
Coach Ankit Patel told news agency IANS, “I knew her (Radhika Yadav) for a long time. When she was about 10-11 years old, her father used to bring her to tournaments and training sessions. It was clear that Radhika’s father wanted her to become a tennis player. She did well at the junior level. He always used to come to pick her up and drop her.”
He also clarified that he had last seen Radhika Yadav about one and a half years ago. There is no information about the circumstances after that.
