‘Rahul made false allegations about Army Chief’s statement’, Rajnath Singh hits back at Congress MP

New Delhi, February 4. Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Monday said during the discussion on the motion of thanks on the President’s address that China is sitting on four thousand square kilometers of our land. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has now reacted to this claim of Rahul Gandhi. He has described Rahul’s statement as “false”.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh wrote on the social media platform X, “Rahul Gandhi made false allegations about the Army Chief’s statement about the situation on the India-China border in his speech in Parliament on February 3, 2025. The Army Chief’s remarks mentioned the disruption of traditional patrolling by both sides. He also mentioned that these practices have been restored to their traditional pattern as part of the recent withdrawal of troops. The government has given this information in Parliament.” Rajnath Singh questioned the Congress leader’s speech, saying, “The words attributed to the Army Chief by Rahul Gandhi were never spoken on his behalf. It is very regrettable that Rahul Gandhi is indulging in irresponsible politics on matters of national interest.”

He said, “If there is any Indian territory in which China has entered, it is 38 thousand square km in Aksai Chin as a result of the 1962 war and 5,180 square km illegally handed over to China by Pakistan in 1963. Rahul Gandhi may consider introspecting about this phase of our history.”

Rahul Gandhi had said in the Lok Sabha on Monday, “The Indian Army has denied Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s claims about the intrusion of the Chinese Army in Ladakh. The Prime Minister has denied that China has entered our four thousand square km land, and the Army has denied the Prime Minister’s statement.”

Ruling party MPs created a ruckus over this claim of Rahul Gandhi. On this, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla told Rahul Gandhi, “You should put the facts of the topic you are speaking on the floor of the House.”
