New Delhi, June 9 . New revelations are being made with every passing moment in the Raja Raghuvanshi murder case. Meghalaya Police claims that Sonam conspired to kill Raja and carried out the entire incident along with her lover Raj Kushwaha.
Investigations so far have revealed that the man Sonam loved was named Raj Kushwaha and he was five years younger than her. He was in a relationship with him before marriage and Sonam conspired with him to eliminate Raja. Newly married Sonam had chosen Meghalaya for the honeymoon and booked the tickets.
On Monday, Meghalaya DGP Idashisha Nongrang claimed that the wife (Sonam) got the murder done by giving contract to the killers.
Meanwhile, amid all the reports of ‘Sonam’s surrender’, Ghazipur SP Iraj Raja told the media, “He received information from Madhya Pradesh Police that a woman named Sonam is present at Kashi Dhaba on Varanasi-Ghazipur road. We reached the spot and recovered her. She was taken to the hospital for treatment and then taken to the One Stop Center in Ghazipur. We are in touch with Madhya Pradesh Police and Meghalaya Police. Their teams are going to reach here soon. They will investigate further. Sonam spoke to her family members, who informed the Madhya Pradesh Police. The concerned police will investigate the incident in Meghalaya.”
Uttar Pradesh ADG Amitabh Yash, while talking to news agency IANS, has told that Sonam herself called her family and told them that she is at Kashi Dhaba located near Banaras Ghazipur main road. This information was given to Indore Police by her family. Indore Police immediately informed UP Police, then Ghazipur Police recovered her from the location at around 3.30 pm. After undergoing medical examination, he has been kept at a one stop centre. Meghalaya Police and Indore Police have been informed. Further action will be taken after that.
Raj Kushwaha has been identified as the alleged mastermind of the murder. Call record details are being scrutinised. In which the conversation between Raj and Sonam has been revealed. This has proved to be an important clue in the joint operation of Indore and Shillong police. Based on these findings, Raj Kushwaha has been arrested.
Meghalaya Police on Monday confirmed that Sonam was arrested from Ghazipur district of Uttar Pradesh, where she surrendered at Nandganj police station. She is accused of plotting to murder her husband. Police said that her surrender was the result of pressure from investigations in several states. The three people accused of carrying out the murder – Vicky Thakur, Anand and Akash – were allegedly hired by Sonam and Raj Kushwaha to kill Raja.
